Create real shadow effect |

Step 1. Create a new document with a size you want. In this tutorial I use a 300x300 image.
Step 2. Import the graphics to which you want to add the shadow effect.  Step 3. Create a new layer.  Step 4. Select Magic Wand Tool and set its preferences as below. 
Step 5. Click on a white area and than Inverse the selection.   
Step 6. Select the empty layer and set foreground color to black (RGB: #000000) and fill the selection.   Step 7. Select the Edit->Transform->Distort function and try to setup a realistic size and angle.
 Step 8. To make it more realistic use the Filter->Blur->Motion Blur effect as you can see here.    Step 9. As last step set the Opacity to 30%  Result:  |
